Fire Extinguisher Inspection, Sales, Service, and Installation
Fire extinguishers are required by NFPA 10 to be inspected annually. Inspecting fire extinguishers is a quick and easy process. However, fire extinguishers are required to have internal maintenance and hydrostatic testing performed at certain intervals (5, 6, or 12 years). Once we complete the fire extinguisher inspection we will know what size and types of fire extinguishers you have, where they are located, and when they are due for an internal maintenance. We will then work with you to make sure that the maintenance is performed and all of your equipment is up to date. We will communicate clearly with you on the process and cost so that there are no surprises. We have a few different ways to complete the services and we will work with you to select the plan that works best for you. One thing is for sure, you will not have any down time or go without fire extinguisher coverage!
Fire extinguisher inspection and maintenance should not be complicated or stressful. We will make sure of it!
Emergency Light Testing
Emergency lights turn on in the event of a power outage. These lights will illuminate the egress way for you so you can safely exit the building. The standard for testing and maintenance of emergency lighting is NFPA 101 Life Safety code. The code states that emergency lights should be load tested monthly for 30 seconds and annually for 90 minutes. This testing cycles the batteries to keep them fresh and ensures that when needed the lights will illuminate the way out of the building.
Trusted Fire Protection will inspect your emergency lights either annually or monthly for you. If you would like to do the monthly check yourself we will train you on this procedure and provide you with sheets for documentation.
It is common that batteries need to be replaced during the annual inspection. We carry a wide variety of batteries on our vans and most of the time we can make the repair at the inspection. If however we do not have the parts on hand we will order them immediately and get the light working as soon as possible.
Hydrostatic Testing | SCUBAs and SCBAs Included
Hydrostatic testing is another key component in making sure your suppression equipment is functioning properly, not damaged or faulty, and will work in an emergency situation. Fire extinguishers can become a hazard themselves when defective. Through hydrostatic testing, we are able to test the quality of the fire extinguishers in your home or work environment. We also test SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) and SCUBA (self contained underwater breathing apparatus) equipment. We want to ensure that all products are functioning as they should. For commercial or private use, we here at Trusted fire aim to have the best possible service and the best quality products available to you. We want to make sure that you feel safe in your own home or work with the knowledge and equipment to combat any fire emergency safely.
Kitchen Fire Suppression
Working in a kitchen or restaurant environment, you know the higher risk for a possible fire. This is due to open flames from cooking equipment. In deep fryers or stoves, a fire can spread and destroy a kitchen or restaurant. Our kitchen suppression system is perfectly installed and will shut off the gas line to the kitchen as soon as a fire is detected. Next, the fire alarms will sound, and release that specific agent to suppress the fire. More residential areas, like dormitories and apartments are also installing these fire suppression systems. Contact to learn more about these commercial kitchen suppression systems.
Kitchen fire suppression systems are mandated to be inspected twice a year, by NFPA 17A standards. Trusted Fire is here to make sure that these systems are working accordingly. We will come in and inspect, but not disrupt, your kitchen’s safety. We are always super flexible when it comes to scheduling, and will check not only the standards and requirements of NFPA 17A, but also the manufacturers. We will check every fine detail of your kitchen suppression system, and make sure that it is not only safe and secure, but up to our standards here at Trusted Fire.
CO2 Refill
Trusted Fire also provides CO2 refills in fire extinguishers. Our specialty carbon dioxide pumps are used to refill your empty fire extinguishers and get the full use out of them. You can waste a lot of money, time, and product when buying a new one, and don’t get the maximum use out of them. Call us to come refill and service your older and empty extinguishers. We will refill them with CO2 and when they are all full again, we will test them to make sure they are in safe and excellent working conditions. Trusted Fire is always here for your fire suppression and safety needs!
